Sapphire Battersea

This is Jacqueline's most recently published book and is also the sequel to one of her many best selling books 'Hetty Feather'.It is a book narrated by Hetty Feather (also known as Sapphire Battersea)about her tough life as an orphan at the Victorian Foundling Hospital.
She starts off life as a scrawny, red headed baby, who gets adopted, until she is old enough to go back to the rough, and cruel Foundling Hospital.

Sapphire Battersea,is obviously related/carried on from 'Hetty Feather' although you do not have to have read it to understand 'Sapphire Battersea' for the first few pages you get filled in about Hetty's (Sapphire) life in general and what went on in the first novel.

This book is a fabulous read and makes you want to turn EVERY last page until you have finished! I think the age range for this book, is for around 10-14 year olds any younger and the reader wouldn't fully understand/get the most out of the book.

Overall the book is a great read, and I hope the information that I have given you about the book is enough to make you want to read both books about Hetty (Sapphire).

I rate this book: 4 stars
